‘Creative subtitling’
12th November 2013 5-7pm
A two-hour workshop for language teachers encompassing software training in Windows Movie Maker and communicative activities for using subtitles in the language classroom to teach the different language skills to learners of different levels of proficiency.
Creating subtitles provides a unique and motivating opportunity for our learners to develop their language skills. During this workshop participants will be trained in using subtitling software, and we will discuss activities for all levels of proficiency to develop different language skills.
During the session participants will have the opportunity to create their own subtitles. Sample clips will be provided in different languages, but participants can bring along their own film clips to create ready-to-use materials for their specific learners.
Windows Movie Maker will be used throughout the session, as most of our learners will have access to the software at home and in school.
