How to use languages to get ahead in the job market
Wednesday, 12th December 12:30 – 16:00, Newcastle University
The languages employability event returns for a fourth year after last year's success. This year will see Routes into Languages North working in partnership with Europe Direct North East to bring you an event filled with exciting speakers, useful information and workshops to equip you for a future career with languages.
This is an opportunity to attend a number of sessions on making the most of your languages qualifications when it comes to finding work or continuing study.
The event is open to both undergraduate language students and 6th form language students in the North East.
Speakers from a wide range of industries will demonstrate how language skills have benefited them in their careers and been put to use in their employment sector. There will be lots of opportunities to put questions to the speakers and learn about career opportunities in panel sessions and informally during breaks.
Colleagues from the European Commission will also outline what types of employment routes can be followed in other parts of the European Union.
There will also be workshops covering Interview dos and don'ts, Making the most of languages on your CV, and careers in translation and interpreting.
