Aimed at year 8 pupils, the events are designed to motivate language learners and encourage them to carry on with their languages to GCSE level. Our research shows that the events improve uptake at GCSE by 24%. The events use language tasters and cultural activities in less widely taught languages to encourage the learning of languages generally. This event has a small charge and we are asking for a nominal fee of £10 per pupil to cover some of the costs.
