Are you looking to enliven language learning at your school? Are you interested in showing your language students where languages can take you and what other options there are beyond school? Would you like your students to see the bigger picture when it comes to language learning?
The Durham University strand of Routes into Languages North East is offering short introductory taster sessions in Arabic, Chinese and Japanese for schools interested.
Led by Student Language Ambassadors currently studying at degree level, these workshops will give students an insight into what it is like to study a language different from those usually offered in school. The workshops will take place on campus at Durham University and thus provide an excellent opportunity for your pupils to experience a university setting.
A typical session will consist of a 90-minute taster session followed by a 15-minute presentation of what it is like to study a language at university and the benefits of learning an less widely taught language alongside a more commonly taught language. Group sizes are limited to 16 students.
