Language Teaching: Times of Transition
9 – 10 July 2016
Durham University
The Purpose
This conference is open to all teachers looking to further their knowledge of Modern Languages and Cultures and particularly those with an interest in MFL transition. It will be of most benefit to those teaching Key Stages 4-5 but we would also welcome those teaching at Key Stage 3 level, as well as trainee teachers and PGCE students. The conference aims to:
-
Support professional development by providing enhanced knowledge and practical ideas and resources to use in the classroom.
-
Extend and deepen subject knowledge through interaction with a wide variety of MFL experts and stakeholders.
-
Enthuse and encourage those working with students with a keen interest in studying MFL further.
-
Enable teachers to give their students the best possible guidance and support to students who are considering Higher Education or a career using foreign language skills.
The Venue
This conference will take place in Durham University’s Collingwood College where you will also be accommodated overnight on 9th July. Some sessions may also take place in the award winning Oriental Museum. Food, entertainment and accommodation is provided free of charge.
