The funding programme Challenge Fund - World of Work aims to support UK-German school partnerships undertaking work experience or enterprise-related project activities.
Feedback from one of the participating schools:
"At the recent 'Languages and Careers' conference organised by NICILT two students from St Columb's College reported back to over 120 delegates from education and business about their exchange project with IGS Langenhagen in Germany. The project was supported by UK-German Connection. The students compared attitudes to work/the culture of work in Northern Ireland and in Germany and the project included a 10-day exchange with a 3-day work placement in a German company. A brilliant experience for all students - we can thoroughly recommend it. It widens horizons, enhances employability and turns students into global citizens!
Funding is available for projects between German school and school in UK and does not necessarily have to have a language element.
