The Turkish Immersion Academy is a project which is being offered for students who have entered for GCSE Turkish (Year 9-11).
Each session will consist of two language lessons as well as a chance to meet current SOAS students and find out more about higher education. Students will also receive information about studying languages at university and other language qualifications.
The aims of the project are to help prepare students for their Turkish examinations (particularly by improving their written skills), to give students the opportunity to experience a university environment and to raise the profile of world languages in general.
Eligibility criteria:
The students should be Turkish speakers, who have been entered for Turkish GCSE. Priority will be given to those who are first generation in their family to attend university and are taking exams this year.
