The Durham strand of Routes Into Languages is offering compact "GCSE workshops" in French, German, Italian and Spanish for schools interested. These sessions are led by members of Durham University staff and accompanied by Student Language Ambassadors; they are intended to boost pupils' motivation and confidence ahead of final exams. The ideal audience will consist of Year 11 pupils studying languages at GCSE.
A typical session will consist of a 90-minute workshop session followed by a 15-minute presentation of what it is like to study a language at university and where languages can take you in the world. Group sizes are limited to 16 pupils. We would encourage any teacher looking for a change of scenery, a boost to students' motivation and confidence to get in touch with us. We can then discuss dates and particular topics that are suitable to students.
