Capital L Summer School is targeted at Y10 pupils.

It will be held at London Metropolitan University, SOAS, UCL, University of Westminster and LSE.

Deadline for application: 5th May

On the summer school pupils will:

  • Further your knowledge of languages
  • Try new, exciting languages
  • Explore languages in relation to broadcast journalism & film
  • Visit Brussels for a day
  • Learn more about languages at the European Commission

Tuesday            "Culture and Identity in World Languages"                           SOAS and UCL

Wednesday        The European Commission and the use of languages             Brussels

+ a presentation on multilingualism

Thursday           Lights! Camera! Action! French in Action through Film            
Westminster

A programme of CPD sessions will be available to teachers alongside the Summer School:

Tuesday      Language learning dyslexia and dyspraxia.  In partnership with Achieveability and SOAS' LTU

Thursday    'Innovative On-line Multimedia Training Videos for Teachers',
                 
Russell Stannard, Winner of the Times Higher Award Education Award for Outstanding Initiatives in
                 
Information and Communications Technology (ICT)'
                 
There will also be an introduction to the work of
the London Regional Support Centre for Links into
                  Languages
