Aston University will be hosting their 8th annual Interactive Languages Residential on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd March 2013.
This exciting and challenging event will give students the opportunity to develop their language and communication skills through marketing based activities, helping students to see the role their language skills could play in the world of work.
The event will start at 11.00am on Saturday 2nd March and will end at 3.30pm on Sunday 3rd March. Throughout the course of the weekend students will work in groups to create their own market strategy for the introduction of a foreign product into the English market and will gain a sound knowledge of the subject matter, develop sophisticated research skills and increase their confidence in the target language.
Students will be taught by academic experts from Aston’s School of Languages and Social Sciences with the support of current undergraduates. During the evening, students will regroup for a well-deserved break from their studies where they will participate in language themed activities and attend an evening meal with members of the languages staff and student ambassadors.
The cost of this event is £85 per person which includes accommodation on the night of Saturday 2nd March in Aston University’s Conference Centre and all meals throughout the weekend. This event is offered as part of our Sixth Form enrichment programme and is open to gifted linguists of AS or A2 standard in their chosen language. The event is aimed at pupils in Year 12 or 13 however applications will be considered from Year 11 pupils.
