Year 12 students will attend a variety of lectures and seminars delivered by academic staff from all 6 Routes WM partner institutes. Students will be able to experience the style and content of lectures in different HEIs. There will also be a mini HE Fair with partner institutes represented.

Buffet lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Representatives from 7 companies using languages in the workplace will take part in this event which will see students produce an advert in a foreign language. Students will act out their advert to a panel of business and language judges.

Residential event for Year 8 students taking place at Keele University campus. Student will attend themed meals, language sessions in French and German, and taster sessions in new languages.

A separate CPD programme is available for teachers accompanying the students.

These 3-day courses are held at the University of Birmingham for gifted and talented Year 9 pupils (6 to 8 April 2009) and Year 12 pupils (27 to 29 July 2009). They combine an introduction to each language with an insight into Chinese and Japanese culture.

Introducing students to the language, culture and traditions of China through a series of fun and interactive workshops including language, calligraphy, tai chi and more!
